Who this applies to
Shine Adventure: Foundations is a digital early-reading programme designed primarily for children aged 4 to 7 who are beginning to learn English letter sounds, blending, and early reading.
The programme must be purchased, registered, and managed by a parent or legal guardian. By creating a child profile, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they have authority to provide the child's information and consent to its use for delivering the programme.
Children should not create accounts, submit payments, or contact external services without their parent or legal guardian.
What we collect and why
We collect only the information reasonably required to provide account access, save learning progress, process payments, provide support, and improve the reliability of the service.
What we do not do
- Shine Adventure does not sell the personal information of parents or children.
- Shine Adventure does not display third-party advertising inside the child learning experience.
Service providers
Service providers may process limited information on our behalf. These may include providers used for:
- Account authentication and database storage
- Payment processing
- Audio and voice generation
- Website hosting
- Error monitoring and technical support
These providers may process information only for the purpose of delivering their services to Shine Adventure.
Data retention and deletion
We keep account and learning-progress information while the account remains active so that the child can continue their reading journey.
A parent or legal guardian may request deletion of the parent account and associated child profiles by contacting Parent Support from the registered email address.
After verifying the request, we aim to delete or anonymise the account information within 30 days, unless we must retain limited records for legal, payment, fraud-prevention, security, or accounting purposes.
Information may remain temporarily in secure backups for up to 90 days before being removed through the normal backup-deletion cycle.
Payment and transaction records may be retained for the period required by applicable law and accounting obligations.
